Refurbishing wheels? Need help!! Empty Refurbishing wheels? Need help!!

Post by lude/dude Wed May 16, 2012 8:31 pm

Hey guys, I have a set of tenzo gtr 6 on my lude, ( I'm not a big fan of tenzo stuff but I like these wheels ) well there deep dish and the lip is a polished lip, but the lacquer is starting to flake off and dirt is getting in there now witch means they look shit, plus they have been cerbed so there a bit chipped ( saying no names but I wasn't driving it that day, someone needed to get there hair done!!) anyway so I'm wondering if anyone knows a way of fixing them cos I like the polished lip, I don't want to spray them, Can I sand it down and re lacquer it or would that take away that polished look. jdmenthusiasts-irl.c

Danny B would be the man to ask, he'll probably be able to repair the lip for you with all the kerbing etc.

Get some thinners on a rag and rub it onto it this will lift the lacquer and then polish them.
Another way would be mask up the painted surface and get some paint remover on the lip. Then use autosol or auto glym metal polish to put the shine back on them.

all depends on the wheels and how many hours it will take, they can be very handy and take a few hours per wheel or a nightmare and take a day or so a wheel, best to look at them 1st or pm me over some pics Wink
