Friend of the brothers is selling his evo 4 with 6 engine in it and i'm tempted to go for it but i know little about them. Anyone own(ed) one? Don't know exact spec of it but it's ment to be in great nick, looking for general info on them and what sort of money do they sell for. Thumb Up!

Price seems fair if its mint, with proof of service. 6 engine in it so none of the 4 problems to worry about. Check and see if the engine is ticking, tappets on evos get quite noisy nothing major. quite cheap to sort anyway but still money to be spent.

Also find out when it had a major service done and if he doesn't know take it that it needs to be done, the timing belt, pulleys, tensioners, plugs, oil etc because that service will set you back the guts of 400 euro on parts alone.

Keep an eye out for the ayc light on the dash too.

Thats not the one in the picture don't think he's putting it on donedeal he rarely uses the internet lol! From what i hear they seem to be reliable enough. Been in it a few times and its a lovely car to drive rarely hear of him giving off about it too. I know insurance varies for people but is it crazy on them?

just watch out for the ayc as the 4's ayc aint great in my view they should have kept with the rear lsd diff as standard as in the 1 2 3 evo's dont like that ayc.emm for insurance its really down too you tbh I think

first thing id be checking is the rear chassis legs as the rust very badly on all mitsubishi's,id check the engine prefix too if it begins with a T its still a 4 engine. Also check rear drivers shock strut (remove the side panel in the boot)as they crack on the 4s too. AYC does give problems on all evos ifs its not looked after check for an AYC light on the dash on start up. If timing belt was done ask was the balance shaft belt done at the same time as some people just do the timing belt,if the balance shaft belt wasnt done it can snap taking out the timing (seen it happen a few times) which can very quickly write off an engine
